Chapter 3: Ipoh, taking KTM railway for intercity

KTMB (KeretApi Tanah Melayu Berhad)

I was at Ipoh railway station.
Ipoh is a beautiful place to visit. Not just food hunting.
Why am I doing there? To go home.

KTM is a good intercity service provider.
Tickets are slightly more expensive then bus.
But it is far more convenient for me.

It has Gold and Silver class, where the ticket fare is different, as well as service and facilities onboard. For me, Silver class is enough. More importantly is the matching of time schedule.

Onboard, there will be place to allocate bags and medium luggage. I always wonder, if the bags fall down while traveling, it might kill passenger and what would be the respond of KTM staff. Besides toilet and pantry, it has power socket so don’t worry about your cell phone battery life. But do remember to bring your own power plug to charging purpose. The power socket is allocated on corner side of below seats. It has FREE Wi-Fi on-board, thanks to Yes 4G internet service provider. And password can be obtained from staff.

It is easy as people not need to go to counter to purchase ticket, but online transaction is welcome. eTicket are applied to ease my life. Just carry along the pdf file and show the staff when they are checking ticket.

So, can’t wait to Balik Kampung~
